Nuts and Bolts:
Just an FYI – there is no faculty or department meeting this week.  However, by April 4, the next Wednesday, you need to have read Chapters 5 & 6 in TLAC.  I know it is busy now – but we are preparing for next year at the same time we are closing up this year.  We all have many balls in the air at the same time!  We become amazing jugglers!!  It will be critical as we work to build a culture of achievement – that we know what to do the first day of school – that we are ready to make it happen in every class!  I want to say thank you to the DC’s who are doing a great job!  They are great teacher leaders!  Student achievement must be our focus and this will help us make that happen!

Just a reminder that all classrooms have to be packed up and moved on that last day of school.  The movers come in early and before you know it everything is gone!  Be sure you are purging as you pack!  Everything we bring back into the new classrooms needs to be things we will use!  If you haven’t used it in several years – throw it away!  I have a meeting this week and I will let you know any new information.

If you haven’t gone on line and registered to help us win a Computer Lab, please do so!  There are about 70 of us, and if we all vote each day, we can win this thing!  If you need help, or want Lesli or I to come help you register – I am happy to do so – shoot me an email!  Any friends and family you can recruit would be awesome!!

Our first STAAR testing has arrived!  Good Luck to the 7th and 8th graders this week!  Tomorrow – 6th grade teachers – please remind your students they must travel quietly throughout the building.  We will turn off the bells until 1:30  or so – so 6th grade teachers, please watch the clocks.  The clocks have all been reset and we should all have the same time!!  Thank you for your cooperation!  One more note, on Tuesday and Wednesday – the two STAAR days, we will NOT have ISS.  We need every available body to help with the testing!  I hope everyone can come to school on those two days – but if you are sick and can’t come – the sooner you can let us know and call for a sub, the better.  We have to make arrangements because subs can’t give the test.

To start off our STAAR testing on a positive note – Tacos will be gratis on Tuesday!  Everyone come and enjoy!

Have a great week!!
