ImageKnow Our Kids, Meet their Needs, Up the Mountain to T-2-4!

Practice STAAR is upon for for all grades this week.  I always like getting the results of the practice STAAR – because this is our chance to be diagnostic with the data – what have we taught that we need to reteach?  What do we still need to teach?  The next two months are where the rubber meets the road.  Our instruction isn’t one size fits all – we have students with varying needs – and the next two months is working to meet the needs of all of our students.  We have a big gap to fill between our LEP students and our non-LEP students.  We are on the state’s focus list because of that gap – all year we have talked about strategies for LEP students, literacy for all, and small group instruction.  The expectation is all teachers are working on those three areas!  We have the ability to make great changes for our students and their achievement – let’s make it happen!  Remember – this work is important!  You can do it!  I won’t give up on any of us!

We will be working on the above for the rest of this school year – and now the CIT and DC’s will begin working on our plan and priorities for next year!

It is extremely important that all teachers of record, take attendance each period.  When we print attendance for students who are having attendance issues, there are many instances where a student is marked absent in second, third, fifth, and seventh.  That does not look good for us.  It is one teacher’s responsibility to take attendance each period, each day.  Thank you in advance for doing this.

The Special Project meeting is Wednesday at 3:35 in the MPR!

The course videos should be available for viewing this week!  Character Strengths!
